Meeting the Burritt Family was truly a blessing for me. Karis and her husband, K.G. were incredibly kind, patient, loving parents. They have three beautiful children whose personalities shine in their own individual ways. Many parents are terrified at the idea of having three children under the age of 3 years old but Karis and K.G. take what comes their way with incredible peace and grace. Their children are truly lucky to have them. Karis and K.G. welcomed a baby boy to their family 3 weeks ago. Each of their children were brought home in the same way-in this cozy baby blanket!
Samantha is the oldest. She has a free spirit and likes to have her independence. Look at those beautiful, brown eyes!
Little Savannah is the sweetheart. She is very sweet and loves the camera! She faces the world with curiosity and awe.
Baby Sterling! This little boy is for sure going to be a strong little man! The entire time I was there all he wanted to do was eat, eat, eat. Karis, being the great mom that she is, sacrificed time in front of the camera to give her son food to grow big and strong.
Note to Self: When doing a family session with 3 young children, do family portraits FIRST! By the time we were able to get the whole gang together, the girls were about done! The camera was no longer interesting and it was nearing nap time. Not the ideal setting for a happy family shot! I love this picture though (Don't worry Karis, I did get one, ONE better one). This picture is precious to me because everyone is looking at Baby Sterling. No one was asked to do so, they all were just genuinely interested in the precious new addition to their family.
My request from readers of this blog:
I wanted to save this for last but it is by far the most important part of my blog thus far. Please pray for little Savannah. She was born with a severe heart defect and is currently waiting on the heart transplant list. She is a fighter and without knowing, you wouldn't even know she is sick. In the time I spent with her it was obvious she explores her world with curiosity and awe of her Creator. The Burritts found out about this condition last April. Karis, I would like to do another session for you this April (free of charge). April is a time for new beginnings and hope for the comforts of spring, not sadness. By this time, things should be a little more calm and you will be able to be in more pictures. I feel it is the least I can do for your family. This baby is in the hands of God, but she still needs our prayers. Please take the time out of your busy day to pray for this little girl and her family. ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures AMY. You are truly gifted, and your work speaks for it's self. I feel blessed to be able to see your work, and even priveledged to see your favorite portrait of SAVANNAH. Not only will my wife and I both keep her in our prayers, but if you dont mind I would like to share words of encouragement at this time for the entire family of SAVANNAH.-Arcullous L. Heard
ReplyDeleteAs of this very moment I am 32years old. Never have I been more clearer about the closeness of GOD and his children. It is this photo of Savannah joyfully looking down and following her shadow, that I know with out a doubt that the presence of the LORD is here. This photo has made me realize that the very reason her shadow is twice her size, is that the FATHER and the SON is not only with her, but leading and guiding her along the path of righteousnous. MOM and DAD, be encouraged...and realize that her heart at this very moment is bigger and stronger than many adults could possibly dream of. This photo has a thousand words within it. Thank you for sharing this moment with me, and may the lord keep everyone of you close, and bless you really good.
Once again, GREAT JOB AMY..
