Mettendorf Christmas Photos

I vividly remember when Carrie looked over at me with a nonchalant expression and said, "Can you look up what labor feels like?" Next thing I knew I was at the hospital visiting my friend and her new baby boy. A few short months later I sat with her in my family room playing with her, Ben, and my new camera. Carrie then said, "You really should start doing photography as a business". I looked at her and laughed. I guess this momma had some intuition because here we are again, Benjamin is now 7 months and they still have the same photographer for their family photos! I'm so excited to see you grow Benjamin, you are such a great baby!

The Soon to Be: Louis and Kimmel Bruno?

When Louis first told me he was dating Kimmel, my immediate response was, "Well, You two will be getting married!" I had been in a few classes with Kimmel (Her name is Elizabeth but I have never heard anyone call her by her first name), from the time I met her I knew some guy was going to be very lucky to have such a strong, God fearing woman. She has definitely found her match with Louis and she is just as lucky to have him as he is her. They are a beautiful couple and I couldn't be happier that they found one another.

I know this is an engagement session but Kimmel has some of the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. Aren't they gorgeous?

These two are a beautiful couple who puts God not only at the center of their lives but the center of their relationship. I can not wait to witness more of the blessings you two will recieve for your faithfulness. One of my favorite sayings is "A woman's heart should be so lost in God that a man needs to seek Him to find her". This quote was lived by this couple and I am so thankful to be a part of this special time in their lives.

Winkelmann Christmas Photos

After shooting Kim's Boudoir Session, she decided it would be a great idea to get some photos to send out for Christmas. This was not a typical family session. From now through December 6th I am offering a discounted "Family Session" with approximately 25 photos instead of the usual 75. If interested, let me know soon. I will likely close the bookings by November 21. Enough about that... On to the Winkelmann's.

Did I mention Kim and Roger have TWINS? Seth and Sydney are...hilarious.They also make me consider evolution because the two resembled monkeys for most of the session. (I can say this because they are my family)

Sweeney Family

When I first heard from Mary she was really excited to do family photos at their home with the beautiful fall leaves as the backdrop. As time got closer (and the rain kept falling) we began to worry that the beautiful fall colors would no longer be in their photos. Well the leaves may have fallen but this family looked beautiful in their fall outfits. Who needs leaves anyway? I had a wonderful time at your home Mary. I can't wait for you to see the rest of your pictures!

One of my favorite things to see on a photo session is parents who can be playful and silly together. These two did not let me down!

Christian: Senior Portraits

I finally did it! That statement applies to so many aspects of my photography this week: I successfully shot an entire session in the rain, learned how to get my watermark on my blog, taught myself how to get large images on my blog, and last but not least, shot my first Senior Portrait session...WITH A GUY! Christian was awesome and super easy to photograph. I really lucked out. He is a lefty pitcher for Fort Zumwalt West and I was pumped to do his session at T.R. Hughes because I am a Baseball Loving Kind of Girl! Best of Luck Christian, can't wait to see one of your games this spring!

Little Logan (and his Momma)

So many songs come to mind when editing this session. I have found myself singing, " Rain, Rain go away" and "I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee, boy won't Mommy be so proud of me". At least I'm singing. (well my husband would likely disagree) Logan was the most adorable little Bumble Bee and it was POURING during his session. I owe a special thanks to Beatnik's Restaurant and New Town St Charles for being creative and making this session happen!

Did I mention I managed to lock us out on a balcony? Yep. Sure did, then Logan figured out that HE could lock ME out on the balcony. Smart Kid.
